Kallah teacher conference
The Midrasha held its' annual Kallah teacher conference for students who completed the program. Here they have some lectures and receive their certification after they complete their exams and all class requirements. This year the program included a lecture by Dana and Amit Katz, a couple who shared their life challenges after Amit became religious and Dana continues to lead non-observant lifestyle. They shared their issues in the areas of interpersonal relationships, accepting others, and changing mindsets about the relationship between observant and non-observant Jews.
This year however, was also a chance to recognize Batsheva Roth, the teacher that lead the program for the last two decades and is now retiring. This was an opportunity to thank Batsheva for her vast contribution. She recognized the need for women to further their study of the laws of Taharat Hamishpacha. She also created the Kallah teacher program in Bar-Ilan, which was the pioneer program in Israel and especially in the center of the country. We were honored to have Rabbanit Nechama Ariel, who advised the program for many years, come to speak at the conference.
In the upcoming academic year (5780), the Kallah teacher program will be given in a different format and will be called the "Bina" program. Further details will be on the Midrasha website.
